Nashville singer/songwriter Bailey Callahan (Pink Mustang Music, LLC), is set to release her new original tune, “Roll”, on Feb. 28.  Bailey co-wote this song with Nick DeLeo and Nick Halsted.  It was produced by Robbie Artess, and will be available on Feb. 28, through all major digital retail and streaming outlets – Amazon, iTunes, Pandora, Spotify and Tidal.

I got a review copy a few days ago, and realized right away that the press that came along with the CD was really accurate.  It read, “A departure from what “Callafans” and country radio customarily expect from the fun-loving, all-American sweetheart, Bailey delivers a raw and gritty, vocal and emotional performance that embraces a fierce, matter-of-fact attitude similar to her musical influences Eric Church and Miranda Lambert. The edgy instrumentation and production fortify the songwriter’s roll-with-it, rebel stance.”

b2I’m not sure what I can add to that.  You can definitely hear the Miranda influence in her vocals, and the Eric influence in the writing.  This is more than just a song with edgy instrumentals and gritty vocals.  Bailey is telling us about something she went through.  For me, knowing there is a story coming makes me anxious to hear the rest of the song. And, in most cases a lot more than once.

Bailey shared this with the media in her recent press release, “We all go through ups and downs, good and bad—and break-ups,” Bailey Callahan said. “I wrote this song with two guys, right after a break-up. I was going through a really tough time and I shared my story. They encouraged me to push through it and write about it—this is from an ‘I got this’ perspective.”

Flow like a river, and roll like a coaster
The way I cope, I bet your momma never told ya
Burn like a fire but you never see the smoke
I’ll be drowning in a bottle but you’re never gonna know

“I’m feeling spunky and revived; I have a completely new outlook on life and love. We experimented with a new sound, instrumentally, and I’m confident in the musical direction. This tune (‘Roll’) is the next chapter in my life and channels what folks can expect to hear from me in the future.  New Year! New Me!” Callahan added.

b4Since moving from her Florida hometown to Music City in 2018, the 19-year-old songstress has become a staple in the Nashville music and songwriting community. Bailey will be an active participant in Country Radio Seminar 2020 in February, and has nearly 125 show dates (including the Winter Springs 4th of July Show) on the books in the New Year.

b1About Bailey Callahan:   Bailey Callahan is a gal who lights up a room; her aura illuminates before she even enters. The singer/songwriter and recording artist lives in the moment but most definitely has a plan for the future. In less than a 10-month period, at just 17, Bailey made the move from the Sunshine State to Music City immediately following her graduation from high school; was invited to participate in, and attended, the annual ASCAP Expo in Hollywood; was selected to become the host of the SCENES Media podcast, and made the grade to become a 2018 NASH Next finalist.

Now nineteen, Bailey navigates her business within the music industry with moxie and grace. The sought-after songwriter has celebrated a “hold” by Kelsea Ballerini; her self-titled EP charted at No. 43 on iTunes (2017). Her 2019 summer tour encompassed performances at Country Stampede (Kansas) and “Thunder On The Ridge.” Bailey has made special guest appearances on “TODAY in Nashville” (WSMV-TV/Nashville) and “Nashville Today” (WSM-AM/Nashville). Recognized as the 2019 Southwest® “Artist On The Rise,” Bailey was awarded a showcase performance at “Live In The Vineyard” in Napa Valley, CA where she joined Kelsea Ballerini, Adam Lambert, Nathasha Bedingfield, Delta Rae, Walk Off The Earth, King Calaway, for KING & COUNTRY, Kevin Griffin (Better Than Ezra), Ryan Griffin, A Thousand Horses, Brett Kissel, OBB, Wyn Starks, Stephanie Quayle and many others.
