The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo has been a major attraction in Texas since it started back in 1937. This year, the event, scheduled to run from March 3-March 22, had to close.
During a press conference held on Wednesday, officials confirmed the cancellation of the event. Event grounds closed at 4 p.m. Wednesday, causing the Rodeo and Livestock festival to be cancelled for the first time in its 83 year history. Following the press conference, ticket holders were told in an update that “A ticket refund process is still in the works and will be communicated once it is finalized,”
While Midland, Willie Nelson and Maren Morris did perform last week, the cancellation means country music fans in Houston will not be seeing Kane Brown, Cody Johnson, Jon Pardi, Dierks Bentley, Keith Urban, Chris Stapleton, Brad Paisley and Luke Bryan.
