Brinley Addington has been on our Country’s Chatter playlist for a very long time.  Over the past 11 years, we have posted more than three dozen articles about this talented singer-songwriter-musician.  We love writing about him. We also enjoy reading about him.  Thanks to our friends at Sounds Like Nashville, we have an article to share with all of you.

The article is about the release of Brinley’s latest single, and is titled “Brinley Addington captures lightning in a bottle for ‘Still Not Over You’.  The single released exclusively to Sounds Like Nashville on July 6, 2020.

We have watched Brinley grow over the years.  Maturing in both his writing and his vocals.  I remember a time when I didn’t think he could get any better than he was then. But, we are often wrong about things.  And, I was definitely wrong about that.  “Still Not Over You” has taken Brinley to a new level in his music.  He has a unique voice, and even though he is getting stronger, those recognizable vocals are solely his own.

While his songs like “Those Kinda Songs,” “Come Back,” and “Middle of Nowhere” will always remain among my favorite Brinley Addington songs, “Still Not Over You” has just gained the top spot on that list.  At least for now.  I have no doubt he will continue writing and recording songs that will quickly become favorites for a lot of fans.

Brinley seems to agree with us about that growth. In the review/interview which appears on Sounds Like Nashville, Brinley said, “I feel like I’ve grown a lot over the past few years, and I want to reflect that in my music and be as transparent as I can be,” he says. [Source]  The article is a great read, and tells you everything you need to know about this song, including the video where you can listen to it.

Brinley wrote and produced “Still Not Over You”, a song that is a story – a story that probably every person who ever lost someone they love can relate to.  We all remember our high school sweetheart, or the one we met in a club on a Friday night, or the kid we grew up next door to, who we just knew we were going to marry.  When any one of those ‘love stories’ come to an end, the result for many of us is not being able to get over that person.  Brinley put those feelings into words, and added a melody to the words, to make a sad story become a great song.

He picks up the tempo in the chorus, which pretty much sums up what he’s feeling:
“I’m still missing you like crazy
I’m still thinking ’bout you baby
Every night and every day
You Know I wish you hadn’t left me
Like you left me when you left e
Baby I was not expecting
Letting go to be t his hard to do
I’m still not over you

Hope you will check out the new video (Audio) over at Sounds Like Nashville.  We will close this with one of my other favorite Brinley Addington songs from about a year ago, “Come Back” (lyric video).
