In This First Look Clip, Combs Discusses His Struggles with Anxiety and How He Has Worked to Overcome Them–Watch here. 

AXS TV presents an all-new episode of the popular celebrity profile series The Big Interview With Dan Rather, featuring Country music standout Luke Combs, on Wednesday, January 13 at 8pE/5pP. During the discussion—filmed remotely utilizing both Zoom and in-person camera teams—the record-breaking artist chats about his whirlwind success, reflects on his past before stardom when he was a bouncer and his deep love for music, and performs a selection from his smash-hit single “Hurricane.”

 

In this first look clip, Combs gets personal about his struggles with anxiety and how it has impacted his life. “First time I can remember is probably middle school kind of up to the end of college, and I still have my moments here and there,” he says. Combs explains his anxiety as a unique form of OCD called Purely Obsessional OCD, which affects his thoughts and comes in waves. “Essentially, my version of messing with the blinds or straightening the carpet are kind of thoughts that I play over and over in my head,” he continues. “[For example] it’ll be something about my health… and it becomes this very obsessive thing that you literally can never have an answer to.” Combs says education has been key in helping to largely put his issues with anxiety behind him. He concludes, “It’s something that you learn about yourself, and arming yourself with the knowledge of exactly what’s going on is the most important thing, I’ve found.” Watch it here.
