When I first heart Colt Ford, I was not a fan.  Songs like “Chicken and Biscuits” and “Waffle House” just didn’t work for me. Those songs, and others like them, were being called country-rap, or rap-country or something.  All I could think was “This is not country music”.  However, Colt Ford changed my mind, and I think he is going to change your mind as well.

When I saw Colt in concert, I watched, and I listened, and the result of that was ‘this man is not just a rapper/singer … he is an entertainer, and I love this show!.  So, the next time he was in the area, I went again … and that was even better.  While some of his band members had changed, and the show was every bit as entertaining, Colt’s music had gotten 100 percent better.   Much less of the rapping stuff, and he can sing.  I mean, he can really sing.  I loved it – the show and the music.

Without question, I always liked Colt – the person that he was.  When I first met him, I told him I was not a big fan of his music, and he was okay with that.  And,  now I am very happy to tell him that I am a huge fan of his music.  At one point I turned down an opportunity to review one of his earlier albums.  I told his PR people exactly what I just told all of you – ‘great entertainer, awesome person, terrible rap music.’  That was how I felt back then … Today, I would be honored to review anything this great artist put his name on.

If you ever felt that way about Colt Ford – Please, give this new EP a chance!  It’s called “Keys to the Country, and it’s good.  Listen/Stream HERE
