Rick Monroe and the Hitmen are proud to announce the release of their latest single, “Six Gun Soul“, available now on all major music platforms.

“Six Gun Soul” is a foot-stomping country-rock anthem that features Monroe’s signature raspy vocals and the Hitmen’s tight musicianship. The song creates an audio landscape of unbreakable inner strength that comes from the desire to be free. Monroe shares, “I’ve been on the verge of losing absolutely everything, but with faith and the ability to stand strong I was able to pull myself up and fight back. In this industry full of endless hurdles, constant no’s and brutal criticism we’ve all been knocked down but it’s those hits that that make us stronger.”

“Six Gun Soul” showcases the band’s musical versatility and as they dig even deeper into their bag of diverse influences. For this track RMHM pulled out an intense mixture of Alternative, Southern Rock, and added in a dark twist of Country Western with and incredible performance from Josh Metheny’s on dobro.

“I’ve always been a huge fan of western movies and the classic cowboy archetype,” Monroe says. “My co-writer (and Hitmen member), Alan Beeler and I wanted to write a song that captured that spirit of adventure and rugged individualism, and the result is ‘Six Gun Soul‘.”

The single was produced by renowned Nashville producer Malcolm Springer, who brings his years of experience and expertise to the table, helping to elevate Monroe’s songwriting and the Hitmen’s musicianship to new heights.

“Working with Malcolm was an absolute pleasure,” Monroe says. “He’s a true professional and he knows how to get the best out of every artist he works with. I’m thrilled with how ‘Six Gun Soul’ turned out.
