Rising artist Walker Montgomery has released a straight shot of pure country with his brand new single, “Work To Do,” out at all streaming outlets today.    LISTEN HERE

The track goes down easy as a perfect chaser for those at-the-bar blues when you’ve had just about enough of life and its heartaches and just need to drown your sorrows with something 90-proof. Montgomery penned the crisp, fiddle and steel-tinged two-stepper with Adam Wood and Mark Irwin. The Bart Butler-produced track is sure to be an instant classic with those blue collar heroes who just want to drop the keys on the bar and drop the needle on some old school country and forget the bad day they’ve been having and the one who broke their heart.

“We were talking about how you go into a bar and these poor ole boys are sitting there drowning their sorrows drinking alone.  I feel like anyone who has ever been through a hard time could relate,” said Walker. “I think it’s a great song to introduce me to the folks who may not have heard of me yet… it’s very traditional.”

The upbeat new song is part of the brand new EP which is due out later this year. The project includes two songs penned by the young Kentucky native and neo-traditionalist, who’s set to perform at CMA Music Fest on the Hard Rock Stage on Thursday, June 8 at 3:35pm.

ABOUT WALKER MONTGOMERY
Chosen as an “Artist to Watch” by Country Now, Music Mayhem Magazine, Sounds Like Nashville, The Boot and others, Walker Montgomery knows a thing or two about family tradition, but is also striving to build his own legacy. The 24-year-old son of John Michael Montgomery and nephew of Montgomery Gentry’s Eddie Montgomery was raised away from the spotlight in Nicholasville, Kentucky, but moved to Nashville and is carving a path all his own on today’s country scene. Montgomery’s pedigree is matched only by his passion for real country music, and he’s already put his classically-inspired, honey-bourbon vocal to use on a self-penned debut hit (“Simple Town,” over 5.2 Million Spotify streams) the romantic power-ballad, “She Don’t Know,” (featured on the 2022 RUST EP) which has garnered the new artist over 20 million streams worldwide, in addition to his other story-building singles, the high-energy “Out of Nowhere” and the good-time filled “Bad Day To Be A Beer.”
