Singer/songwriter Karissa Ella continues her upward trajectory while solidifying her status as one of country music’s most promising up-and-coming artists with her latest single, “White Dress Worthy,” available everywhere now.
In tandem with the single release, Ella also announced that her new EP, It’s Personal, will be released on June 23.
In “White Dress Worthy” – which she penned with her mother, Lori Haasz – Ella reflects on both the excitement and inherent pressure that inevitably comes with the stage of life she’s currently navigating, one in which many of her peers are getting married, starting families and buying homes. “White Dress Worthy” serves as a gentle bit of advice to not give into that pressure by rushing into things or settling for anything less than someone who makes you feel like you’re on top of the world. Listen to “White Dress Worthy” here.
Your umbrella in the rain
A steady hand when the ground shakes
Don’t put on a diamond ring
Girl if he ain’t, no
He hears you when you don’t say a thing
And knows exactly what you need
Don’t say the vows
If he ain’t the real thing
He’s gotta be white dress worthy
He’s gotta be white dress worthy
“Writing with my talented mom is always a special experience but on this one, it really allowed me to approach the song’s message from a mother’s point of view,” says Ella. “With wedding season fast approaching, the song is a reminder that it’s totally okay to wait for the right one and make sure your partner truly is white dress worthy before you say ‘I do.’”
The new single follows the March release of Ella’s energetic, good-time anthem “Well Tequila.” Both tracks will be included on the upcoming EP, a collective that showcases Ella’s infectious hooks and gorgeous, soaring vocals on material that is decidedly personal to her in numerous ways.
“The EP is definitely going to be a blend of the nostalgic and reflective, with songs that cover everything from my favorite spirit to my hometown, and my personal relationships,” Ella adds. “I think it will give listeners a whole new understanding of me as both an artist and an individual, and I’m really excited for folks to hear it!”

Karissa Ella is a breath of fresh air in today’s world of country music, and she’s been recognized for it by CMT, Taste of Country, Sounds Like Nashville and countless more media outlets. Inspired by the likes of Shania Twain, Gretchen Wilson, Miranda Lambert and Carrie Underwood, her music and writing are a reflection of those that came before her. Her live performances at places like the ACM-nominated Dusty Armadillo, attract audiences of all ages, but they keep coming back for her infectious personality and genuine songwriting. An Ohio native, Ella has consistently released new music with heavy press and streaming support since graduating from Belmont University in 2018, starting with a self-titled EP for which she co-wrote the majority of songs and her second EP, Blossom, which featured the tracks “VACAY” and “More Like Her.” In 2021, she put out The Acoustic Sessions – an EP of four classic country song covers – as well as the original singles “Bad Summer” and “Crackin’ Cold Ones” and rounded out the year on the road with GRAMMY-nominated country star David Nail on his Bootheel 2021 Tour. Ella had another prolific year in 2022, marked by the release of several singles – including “Hometown Bar” featured on PEOPLE.com and “Whiskey Whispers Your Name” featured on Sounds Like Nashville – as well as a special performance of “He Walked on Water” for Randy Travis himself at the Country Rebel Ranch. Ella’s third EP will be released in the Summer 2023. To stay up to date with new music and tour dates, visit karissaella.com.
