Country music legend Donna Fargo will share her chapter in country music history on the newest Voices of Country Legends Podcast posting tomorrow, September 22nd. Donna Fargo will share her journey from Mt. Airy, North Carolina to teaching in California, which led to her making country music history in 1972 with her first two debut singles going number one and each selling a million copies, “The Happiest Girl In The Whole U.S.A.” and “Funny Face” respectively. The topics will cover the signs from above, finding her true love, bringing inspiration to millions and not letting a life-altering diagnosis takeover.

Voices of Country Legends is a new interview podcast preserving firsthand stories from country music history. Donna Fargo is one of the inaugural guests visiting with host Frank Gerard in conjunction with the Legends of Country Music Museum in Nashville’s Music Valley.

Donna Fargo has her own exhibit showcase inside the Legends of Country Music Museum. And fans have a chance to meet Donna Fargo there, in person, Saturday, October 10th at 4pm.

About Donna Fargo:   Donna Fargo established herself as an award-winning singer, songwriter, and performer with the first single release of a song she wrote called “The Happiest Girl in the Whole U.S.A.” This song was also the lead song in her first album by the same name, which achieved platinum album status and earned her 3 Grammy nominations and a Grammy. Her second single release called “Funny Face” won Donna the title of the first woman in country music history to have back-to-back million-selling singles, both

of which she wrote. Both songs reached beyond country and became pop hits also, and many hit singles and albums followed. Some of her credits include seven Academy of Country Music awards, five Billboard awards, four ASCAP awards, and two National Association of Recording Merchandisers awards for best-selling artist. She has also been honored by the Country Music Association, the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences, and the Music Operators of America, and she was the first

inductee into the North America Country Music Association’s International Hall of Fame. In addition to the Robert J. Burton Award that she won for “Most Performed Song of the Year,” her most coveted awards as a writer are her Million-Air Awards, presented to writers of songs that achieve the blockbuster status of one million or more performances. Together, Donna as the writer and her husband Stan Silver as the publisher, have six Million-Air Awards and thirty BMI Awards. Her performance on a show at Carnegie Hall interested the Osmond family enough to produce the syndicated television variety show, The Donna Fargo Show. In 2009, the state of North Carolina named

a highway after Donna, and in 2010, she was inducted into the North Carolina Music Hall of Fame.
