Nashville-based, singer-songwriter and indie country recording artist (Platform EightyNine Music) is celebrating the release of his new single “Love On The Rocks.”* Penned with co-writers Elmer Knable and Allen Pommer, and produced by Alexander, the track is the second in Alexander’s 2023 waterfall series of releases and is AVAILABLE NOW via all digital retail outlets and streaming platforms.
The Bob Seger-esque opener sets the lonely mood paving the way for whining electric guitars that carry the weight of juxtaposed, metaphorical lyrics as an emotional musical relay of the “Love On The Rocks” sentiment. Bass drum beats signify the broken-hearted, high and low storyline that pours out the cold reality.
of a drowning relationship and killing the pain, shot by shot, one memory at a time.
POURING BOURBON OVER ICE
NO GLASS TALL ENOUGH TO SATISFY
THE TASTE OF YOUR LIES HAS ME DYING INSIDE
AND SOME DAYS IT’S HARD TO SURVIVE
AND FROM THE BOTTOM TO THE TOP
ONCE I START, I JUST WON’T STOP
KILLING BOTTLES SHOT BY SHOT
LOVE ON THE ROCKS
“The storyline canvases the recollections of a relationship, the good and the bad, and emotions of a breakup,” said Seth Alexander. “I worked hard to convey the sadness and hopelessness of the final realization in my vocal performance and we incorporated a number of metaphors to ‘killing the pain.”
The corresponding “Love On The Rocks” music video was shot in Music City locations, including Smoker Abby’s and the Analog (at Hutton Hotel) in Nashville, TN. The vintage-style flick will be available in mid-June.

ABOUT The Oregon-born dream seeker moved to Music City in 2018. Within 12 months of Seth Alexander’s arrival, his day job landed him a chance to meet with one of Nashville’s respected producers, Richard Donahue. Donahue, who was a former band member of The Accents (signed to RCA Records for 12 years), transitioned to artist development and production. The two quickly developed camaraderie. The working relationship brought Seth into the studio where he recorded alongside the likes of Kerry Marx (Musical Director for the Grand Ole Opry), Catherine Marx (Reba’s pianist), Tommy Harden (who has played drums for Larry Gatlin, Ricky Skaggs and most currently, Alabama) and Tony King (harmony vocalist for Brooks & Dunn).
Seth’s musical tastes were influenced early on by the tunes that sang from the car stereo of his granddad’s old red Datsun (Haggard, Jones, Keith Whitley, George Strait and Garth), and “cousin Bobby” who played at fairs and festivals and carried Seth in tow. Seth learned to play guitar as a six-year-old on an instrument that his granddad bought for him at a garage sale. Honing his song craft, Seth took cues from Bobby and two of his favorite songwriters, Craig Wiseman and Jeffrey Steele.
An active member of the Music City community, Seth maintains a steady writing schedule with some of Nashville’s finest; he’s performed at notable venues including The Local, Live Oak and Commodore Grille. Seth released two original tunes in 2022 making his debut with “Millionaire” (the corresponding “Millionaire” music video debuted on The Country Network) and followed with the sophomore single “Neon Bar.” In March 2023, Seth introduced the original tune, “Till Your Boots Are Dirty,” the first in his 2023 waterfall series of single releases.
