Singer-songwriter Liddy Clark is embracing her power and telling it like it is on her brand new track, “Playboy” available today, Friday, June 23. The brand-new song serves as the first new single from her Made Me Deluxe Album which will be released July 28. Fans can pre-save the deluxe album and stream “Playboy” now.
Often turning to friends and real-life scenarios for inspiration, Liddy’s latest release is taken from her own personal experience. In an exclusive interview with Bridge Magazine she shared, “I wrote ‘Playboy’ a few years ago after experiencing an overly confident guy come up to me at a bar & insist that he was going to be my date for the rest of the night. I’ve always believed that men like this are afraid of confronting something deeper within themselves and therefore take it out on the girls they get with.”
“I wrote this song about understanding who a guy is immediately after meeting them & that women do not have to accept and validate this type of behavior. Hey, ‘if you can’t play nice, I ain’t ever gonna let you play boy.’”
Born in Texas and raised in Florida, she began working professionally at the age of nine. Clark is now based in Los Angeles/Nashville and has been highlighted by Rolling Stone, Radio Disney, and iHeart Radio. She’s been tapped an “Artist to Watch” by AXS, Billboard, and ET, and named in PopStar’s “On The Radar” series. She’s amassed over 500K followers on social media and has performed at iconic venues like the Country Music Hall of Fame in Nashville, The Hotel Cafe in Los Angeles, and the iHeart Stage in NYC. Liddy kicked off 2023 on a high note with Billboard naming her to their ‘New In 2023’ feature.
