Runaway June has had a packed summer of tour stops across the U.S., creating buzz from coast-to-coast by lighting up stages from Country Jam Colorado Music Festival to Summerfest in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and more. Adding fire to their set is fan-favorite anthem “Make Me Wanna Smoke,” which was amongst the most-added singles at Country radio last week. A wildly relatable look at loving someone who’s nothing but bad news, the sultry and stomping track is a glorious showcase for their high-powered harmonies and radiant charisma. Go here to listen to “Make Me Wanna Smoke” now.

Written by Jason Sellers, Ella Langley, and Bobby Hamrick, “Make Me Wanna Smoke” premiered in May and immediately drew raves from the likes of American Songwriter, who noted that the track “encapsulates the internal struggle of a conflicted heart.” With production from Mickey Jack Cones, the song centers on the soul-stirring harmonies of band members Jennifer Wayne, Natalie Stovall, and Stevie Woodward — three massively talented artists whose vocals simultaneously channel aching frustration and unbridled longing (from the second verse: “I’ve said some ‘don’t stop’s, I’ve said some ‘hell no’s/I’ve told too many mornin’ mirrors ‘I told you so’/But you’ve got somethin’ and I can’t fight it/You make me wanna put it out, then you make me wanna light it”). Delivered with equal parts raw emotion and brazen attitude, “Make Me Wanna Smoke” also spotlights the rootsy and razor-sharp musicianship that’s made Runaway June one of the most can’t-miss Country acts around.

The trio’s first release since signing with Quartz Hill Records, “Make Me Wanna Smoke” marks the follow-up to their fall 2022 release “BROKEN HEARTS (DO BROKEN THINGS)” — a sing-along-ready rocker that scored mentions from Billboard, Entertainment Tonight, E! News, CMT, and more.

With many dates ahead to finish out the momentous year, Runaway June’s upcoming tour dates are available here.

ABOUT RUNAWAY JUNE:
Formed in 2015, Runaway June is an all-female band made up of three powerhouse musicians with no limit to their talent and effortless charisma. With their past triumphs including the GOLD-certified radio hit “Buy My Own Drinks,” the trio has earned ACM and CMT nominations, plus supported Country icons like Carrie Underwood with their electrifying live set – all while drawing major critical acclaim for releases like their 2019 full-length debut BLUE ROSES. Consisting of founding member Jennifer Wayne and fellow vocalists/multi-instrumentalists Natalie Stovall and Stevie Woodward, Runaway June delivers a timeless yet undeniably fresh sound reflecting their eclectic sensibilities and wide-ranging backgrounds. Wayne is a California native who started out on a path as a tennis pro before forming her first band, then began writing for artists like Eric Paslay soon after her post-college move to Nashville; Stovall took up classical violin at age four in Central Tennessee, launched her music career by playing fiddle in the Opryland Kids Club, attended Berklee College of Music, and eventually linked up with Wayne while on tour with her former band; and Woodward got her start playing solo gigs all over South Carolina at 14, studied songwriting and music business at Middle Tennessee State University, and later embarked on a solo career as a singer/songwriter. Runaway June recently brought their harmony-fueled and high-energy brand of Country to the bold and unbridled 2022 single “BROKEN HEARTS (DO BROKEN THINGS)” and just unleashed their latest effort, “Make Me Wanna Smoke.”
