Donna Fargo will be accompanied by acclaimed singer/songwriter Lauren Mascitti performing a few of the legend’s hit songs as Donna tells the stories behind the songs and shares memories, as well as a Q&A with the audience.

Donna shares, “I just love to write, and I appreciate a well-written song. Writing helps me find out for myself about truth. It helps me to examine my thinking. As a songwriter, I know I have a responsibility to an audience. So I like to write all types of songs with different themes, some to make you feel good like my current song, “You Can Count on Me,” some to teach a lesson like in “U.S. of A.” and some that make you think like my recitation “That Was Yesterday.” To me, there’s magic in variety because there are no limits.”

Donna Fargo’s talent for writing made history when her first two debut songs to radio became back-to-back million sellers. Fargo’s first self-penned song was the 1972 recording of “The Happiest Girl in the Whole U.S.A.,” which became a #1 Billboard country hit and reached #11 on the all-genre Hot 100 chart; received the Academy of Country Music’s Song of the Year and Single Record of the Year awards and the Country Music Association’s Single of the Year award; and was named Best Country Vocal Performance, Female at the Grammys in 1973. Some of Fargo’s other self-written hits include “Funny Face,” “It Do Feel Good,” “Little Girl Gone,” “Superman,” “That Was Yesterday,” “U.S. of A.,” and “You Were Always There.” She also reached the Top 10 with songs written by other writers including, with the songs “Do I Love You (Yes in Every Way),” “Mockingbird Hill,” “Shame on Me” and “You Can’t Be a Beacon If Your Light Don’t Shine.”

This will be a special opportunity for fans to get up close with a legend who has brought a unique and uplifting, often inspiring vibe to the country music genre. And she continues to live up to her songwriting legacy with a new single to radio this year, titled, “You Can Count on Me.”

Donna shared, “This song just makes you feel good and want to get up and dance.”

About Lauren Mascitti:  With a voice as pure as her heartland roots and a songwriting talent well beyond her years, Nashville-based singer/songwriter Lauren Mascitti is fast becoming one of country music’s most compelling new voices.

Millions first discovered Lauren during her unforgettable run on American Idol in 2020, but her journey as an artist began long before national television. A musical prodigy, Lauren was writing songs and performing by age 7, and by her teens was already captivating audiences six nights a week in Branson, Missouri alongside gospel legend and original Oak Ridge Boy, Gary McSpadden.

Since moving to Nashville from her hometown of Louisville, Ohio, Lauren has built an impressive resume that reads like a veteran’s dream — sharing stages and writing rooms with icons like Pam Tillis, Matraca Berg, Suzy Bogguss, Delbert McClinton, and Lonestar. She performed with Brad Paisley and Shania Twain in a nationally televised concert honoring healthcare heroes during the pandemic — a nod to her own background as a registered nurse.

Lauren’s heartfelt songwriting and soaring vocals have earned her coveted performances on the legendary Grand Ole Opry stage and secured opening slots on tour with Lonestar, including their historic first headlining show at the Iconic Ryman Auditorium. www.laurenmascitti.com
