Historic Grand Ole Opry Circle Makes Texas Debut in Epic Throwdown
Aaron Watson hit it out of the park over the weekend alongside the Texas Rangers for an energetic crowd of 35,000 on Saturday, August 19. After the Rangers defeated the White Sox 17 to 7, fans were treated to a concert on the ball field at the retro-style Globe Life Park in Arlington, TX. Watson’s full-throttle 60-minute set included his mega-hit “Outta Style.”
“We were especially excited to host Aaron this weekend and were thrilled with the fan response to his post-game show on Saturday night,” says Sean Decker, Senior Vice President, Operations & Events for the Rangers. “He set record numbers for field pass sales and, as always delivered a great show.”
To add to the epic homecoming for Watson, a native Texan, an iconic piece of Nashville was on hand to mark the occasion. In celebration of the Grand Ole Opry’s 90th anniversary, Watson participated in an “Opry Circle Throwdown” from the stage when he brought out a replica of the famed six-foot Opry Circle of wood symbolizing the oak center stage at the Opry House, making its Texas debut. Amidst a string of sold out shows nationwide, Watson is preparing for his October 4 headlining date at Music City’s iconic Ryman Auditorium. He will bring along some friends; Jon Wolfe, Mickey Guyton, Jim Collins and Leslie Satcher, to present “A Night Of Texas Music.” Tickets start at only $25 and can be purchased at ryman.com. The date adds to a hugely successful 2016-2017, with headlining ticket counts nearing the half million mark and 100+ sellout shows covering 40 states and 10 countries.
