We get a lot of press releases about new artists. Just about all of them come from public relation firms, management teams or the folks at recording companies. Whenever we get a new song directly from the artist, it always catches our eye. And, when we listen to the song, and like what we hear, we want to share that with our readers.
A few days ago, we received an email from Jason Maxwell. The message he included gave us a little peek inside the song before we listened. We are going to share that email with you.
“Hey Country’s Chatter,
“For Now” is a genuinely loving…somewhat toxic…but straight from the heart message to my ex-girlfriend appealing to her that she can do better than my replacement.
I truly want what is best for her. I’m just suggesting we should rekindle our relationship because what we shared in the past was, and is, greater than the love she now shares with her new partner.
Even though we had been broken up for a long time, I felt that things weren’t fully over between us. I loved her and still saw a future together. It was disheartening to realize that our relationship was really over and that she had moved on definitively.
I’m not perfect, but I’m real and I’m honest. There’s got to be people out there who can relate!
Thank you for listening,
We like “For Now”, but we didn’t stop listening after that one. I can’t tell you how much we enjoyed his cover of Jason Marz “I’m Yours”. We listened to “Blessing in Disguise”, and realized we were probably going to enjoy everything we heard from Jason Maxwell. We listened to the song “Back to Good,” that Jason posted on YouTube back in 2020. In February 2022, just a few months ago, he put “When You’re In It” up on YouTube. Okay, I give up. I’m not going to be able to pick a favorite Jason Maxwell song. They are all good. Head on over to YouTube and listen for yourself.
Jason is a singer/songwriter form Canada. The Bio on his website includes this paragraph, “Jason’s musical influences set him apart from others in the industry, as they aren’t exactly what you would expect from a traditional country singer. Jason’s style provides a fresh perspective on country music by blending classic rock vibes and even some hints of pop/hip-hop with traditional country instrumentation. Some of his musical influences include: Zac Brown Band, Thomas Rhett, John Mayer, Russ & Josh Kerr.”. We hope you will visit his website, and read the rest. WE are all going to want to watch Jason as he continues his journey.
