With my friend, and mascot of the best radio station anywhere, the WXBQ Rabbit.

Our post title is a bit incorrect.  Yes, Country’s Chatter is slowing down.  But the recovery has nothing to do with updating the site, recovering lost information, or anything else to do with the site. The recovery is about me.

On Sunday, Sept. 24, I had a bad fall.  I broke three bones in my left foot.  While that may seem like a ‘put her on crutches and move on with your life” situation – it’s not quite that easy. One of these breaks is severe and the possibility that I will need surgery is more of a probability. I’ll find out on Monday (Oct. 2) when I see the surgeon again. Healing definitely becomes more a a problem when we age.

Herein lies the problem. While doctors determine the next step, it is absolutely imperative I put no weight at all of the foot, and I need to keep it elevated as much as possible.  I cannot sit at the desk long enough to put up anything more than an occasional ‘cut and paste’ press release.

I appreciate all of my readers, and all of the emails and comments you make on the Country’s Chatter Facebook page.  Please keep in touch.  I am planning to pop on every chance I get, and put up at least a short press release, to help keep you informed about things happening in the world of country music.

You can get some great news on WXBQ’s website and Facebook page – they recently interviewed Hunter Girl on the air, and you can watch that interview. WXBQ is our local radio station, but they are nationally recognized, and have listeners from around the world through their Streaming.  Give them a listen.  Great staff and awesome on-air personalities.

I can’t talk about WXBQ without mentioning this!   The best radio station ever, and previous winners of CMA Broadcast Awards, they are nominees again this year.  Our congratulations going out to Steve, Ben and Nikki from the Morning Air Show; and, to 96.9 WXBQ FM on this year’s nominations. Remember to watch the awards show, too!  Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2023 – ABC at 8 p.m. EST.

Nikki Thomas posted the following on her Facebook page earlier today.  “Feeling #blessed today to be able to work with this amazing group of people at such a great company. If you voted for us…thank you thank you thank you. It’s an honor to be nominated alongside the talented folks and incredible stations in these categories. @969wxbq #countryradio The 57th @CMA awards air 11/8 on @abcnetwork ”

Thank you all so much for your understanding, I’ll get back to regular posting just as quickly as I can.
