Tenacious country artist Annie Vander has released the official music video for her latest single, The Speed Of Love, and it comes with an unforgettable twist – a real-life proposal that left the entire cast and crew in tears. Premiering on broadcast and streaming TV network American Country Network, the video is now currently in rotation to watch on the network, as well as on YouTube, while the single continues to stream across all major streaming platforms.
Filmed across the scenic backdrops of Plainfield, Shorewood, and Yorkville, Illinois, the video was produced by Imagination Designers, the same creative team behind Annie’s award-nominated cinematic music video, He Himself & Him. This new video artfully mirrors the song’s message – that sometimes love moves fast, but always true, and builds toward a breathtaking on-camera engagement that’s as genuine as it is moving.
But fans may not realize just how personal this video is for Annie. “During a goddaughter/godmother day out, I first played the song for Tori and casually asked if she and her boyfriend, Trevor, would be interested in starring in the video,” Annie recalls. “She said yes before I even finished the question. Then she smiled and said, ‘What if Trevor proposes during the shoot?’ I laughed and told her that might be out of my control!”
What started as a lighthearted suggestion soon became a reality. A few months later, Annie reached out to Trevor to pitch the idea of staging a proposal in the video. Then, following her return from CMA Fest 2024, Trevor called with an unexpected plot twist: the proposal would be real. The inclusion of the surprise proposal was kept secret from her goddaughter. “This song is deeply personal and getting to witness a real engagement unfold as part of the video brought everything full circle.”
Written by Hannah Bethel, David Myhre, and Annie’s longtime producer David Norris, The Speed of Love showcases Annie’s signature blend of authenticity and emotional storytelling. Known for her powerhouse vocals and soul-baring lyrics, Annie Vander has steadily built a reputation as one of country music’s most relatable and resonant emerging voices. She’s turned heads with standout singles including Rock In My Shoe, The Daddy Tree, and Tonight, along with chart-toppers He Himself & Him and Falling Into Nashville — amassing over a quarter of a million streams on Spotify alone. Annie’s work has also earned her recognition on Pandora’s Fresh Cuts Radio, and nominations for Female Video of the Year and Best Performance in a Music Video at 2024’s Josie Music Awards as well as new nominations for this year’s award show. Annie is on the road with her band and also continues to host her popular open mic nights in her hometown of Yorkville, Illinois. Past performance highlights include performing at Soldier Field and Plymouth Fall Fallooza where she was on the same bill with award-winning country artist John Michael Montgomery.
With a growing fanbase and a catalog full of heartfelt music, Annie is proving she’s one of country music’s brightest and most relatable voices. Visit Annie Vander at website and follow along with her on YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok.
